La Roseraie Bed and Breakfast is situated in a
four-century-old characteristic mansion, built from special meteorite
stone, originating millions of years ago. It is situated near the centre
of the charming town Rochechouart, on walking distance from the castle.
The mansion has three stylish, antique furnished, guestrooms varying in
size from 25 up to 35 m2. At the back of the mansion one can enjoy the
delightful aroma of the 15 x 15 m2 rose garden.
The grand authentic wooden staircase leads up to the first floor where
the first guestroom is found: Roseraie de lHaij, with a 1.60 x 2.00
metres canopy bed and a sitting area, with a view on the rose garden.
The modest, but attractive, bathroom has a shower, wash-stand and toilet.
On the second floor you find the next guestroom, Mme. Grégoire
Staeckelin. In this guestroom the theme of roses is prominent. The 1.60
x 2.00 metres bed is made of cherry wood by a local carpenter. This room,
with its sitting area, also overlooks the garden. The bathroom in Morish
style has a large shower, wash-stand and toilet.
At the front of the mansion the third guestroom, Alexandre Girault, is
located, with a 1.60 x 2.00 metres cherry wood bed and an extra 1.10 x
1.80 metres antique bed, also with a sitting area. The luxurious bathroom
gives the impression that you are in a castle, with its large shower,
wash-stand and toilet.
It is possible to place an extra (baby) bed in each of the rooms.
